Identification and Appearance
Two major taxonomic characters...together serve to distinguish C. convexa from all other known species of Chrysobothris from the United States. First the clypeus is strongly elevated basally...giving the clypeus a deflexed appearance...The second character...concerns the elytral vestiture...the elytra bear very sparse, short, and usually extremely inconspicuous setae which are placed mostly adjacent to the costae.
